About the Wood Buffalo After Hours Clinic

We launched the After Hours Clinic in April 2013 in order to provide increased access to care for local residents who may not have regular access to primary care during normal business hours, due to their work schedule or otherwise. Anyone with or without a local family physician is welcome to visit the After Hours Clinic; however, if you do not have a local family physician, you will be connected with one when you arrive at the clinic, to ensure that you have a medical home here in Fort McMurray. We are committed to providing not only convenient, but comprehensive medical care.

In Fort McMurray, every Family Physician is a member of the Wood Buffalo Primary Care Network, a healthcare team committed to providing patient-centred health care services tailored to the needs of our unique community. Under the leadership of our Family Physicians, we run a Central Clinic staffed by a diverse group of health professionals, including Nurses, Pharmacists, Counselors, Dietitians, Exercise Specialists, and Respiratory Therapists. Family Physicians refer patients needing preventative or comprehensive care to the Central Clinic for a wide range of reasons. You can receive care both in and out of your family physician's clinic -- our community has a team of partnered care providers who work together to make sure that you're receiving the care that's right for you.
